Rashida Jones
Rashida Jones was born in Los Angeles,
California, the youngest daughter of a media mogul, producer, and musician
Quincy Jones and actress Peggy Lipton. Kidada Jones is her elder sister. She
also has five half-siblings from the other relationships her father had with
his family. Her father is African-American, and her mother is Ashkenazi Jewish
(a descendant from immigrants from Russia and Latvia). Rashida was raised
Reform Judaism. She was born in Bel Air, Los Angeles. Jones said that her
mixed-race parents were not accepted by society until the 1970s. Jones began
her professional acting debut in The Last Don in 1997 A mini-series that was
inspired by Mario Puzo. Rashida was also a Harvard University graduate in 1997.
The school she attended was the Buckley School in Sherman Oaks, California. The
school awarded her the most likely to succeed. The name she uses is Arabic
(O+-O'UO-O(c)) for "Major, adult, grown-up older or wise". People

Niece of Robert Lipton. She was romantically connected to Josh Hartnett,
Charlie Hunnam and John Krasinski. She sang in a Tupac Shakur tribute track,
that was written by Kidada Jones, her sister. Kidada and her brother Quincy
Jones III composed the song. Quincy Jones III, their father, was also featured
during the introduction, reciting Shakur's lines "Starry Night". The
title of the song is named after the poem. Rashida is African-American and has
little English, Scottish, or Welsh ancestry than his mother (some of his
African ancestral ancestors were from the Tikar tribe from Cameroon). Rashida
is Ashkenazi Jewish, of Russian Jewish and Latvian Jewish descent. Her maternal
grandparents are from South Carolina and Mississippi. Her maternal grandfather
was born to New Yorkers, while her maternal grandmother was from Eastern
European Jewish heritage. In the year 2009, she had played three characters
under the name "Karen" in cult classic comedy shows on TV (Freaks and
Geeks (1999), Stella (2005) and The Office (2005)).
