Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was born to Gayle
(Gaston), director of national operations at Mary Kay and Freddie Wright. Her
birthplace was San Diego, California. At the age of 14, she began her
professional career in modeling. She was a model in Paris and Japan. After high
school graduation, she became an actor. She was cast on the soap show Santa
Barbara (1984), for which she was nominated three times for an Daytime Emmy.
She was in love with Dane Witherspoon during the first season. They got married
in 1986. She was the princess bride (1987) in the title role. After she left
Santa Barbara, she was offered the lead in Denial (1990) as well as Jason
Patric. In the year 1990, she was playing the role of State of Grace (1990) and
became acquainted with actor Sean Penn, by whom she had a daughter, Dylan
Frances, and a son named Hopper Jack. After a short break, Robin was back to
Hollywood with one of the greatest roles of her career. She was Tara in The
Playboys (1992). She was stunning and brilliant. She starred in Toys (1992)
which was an comedy that starred Robin Williams. It was hilarious. In 1994,
Wright was in the blockbuster hit Forrest Gump (1994), with Tom Hanks. Wright
was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her role in the film as Jenny. She
got a small role in The Crossing Guard (1995) with Jack Nicholson. After a
string of rejections, she was offered the lead role in MGM/UA’s Moll Flanders
(1996). It was directed by Pen Densham and featured Morgan Freeman, Stockard
Channing, and Morgan Freeman. Her next film was Erin Dignam's Loved (1997)
together with William Hurt.
