Pom Klementieff

Pom Klementieff (born 3 May 1986) is a French actress from France. She attended the Cours Florent drama school, Paris. She has appeared in films like Loup 2009, Sleepless Night 2011 and Hacker's Game 2015. She portrays the role Mantis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017). Avengers: Infinity War (2018). Avengers: Endgame (2019). Pom Klementieff was born in Quebec City, Canada, to the parents of a Korean mother and French-Russian father who was employed as a consul there for the French government. Her grandfather was a painter Eugene Klementieff. The name was chosen by her parents "Pom" because it is similar in pronunciation to the Korean words for "spring" as well as "tiger". Klementieff lived in Canada for a year. Her family traveled extensively as a result of her father's job. Prior to making the move to France they resided in Japan and also on the Ivory Coast. Klementieff's father, who died at the age of 5 from cancer was also her mother. Also, she was suffering from schizophrenia and couldn't care for her kids. Klementieff was raised with her aunt and paternal uncle. Her uncle, who she described as "like [her] second father", died on her 18th birthday as did her older brother, who committed suicide seven years after, but this occasion being her birthday. Klementieff briefly attended law school following the death of her uncle to please her aunt, but did not find the career choice appealing. She was also a waitress and saleswoman in France. She began acting when was 19and attended the Cours Florent theatre school in Paris. After completing her education and gaining an award in the theater which provided her with two years of tuition along with the most renowned teachers at the school. The first time she was professionally acting was in the French independent film Apres lui (2007), acting as the stepdaughter in the film of the main character who was played by Catherine Deneuve. The filming process was a three-day process. One scene featured Klementieff pushing a person down a set of steps, but she fell. Gael Morel saved that footage for the final film. Loup (2009) was her first lead role in a film. It's an French film about a tribe of Siberian mountain reindeer herders. Klementieff filmed for hours at a camp that was far from the nearest village. The temperature plummeted to below zero during filming.
