Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born on 25th August 1949) is an American TV chef who is a popular personality. She also was a former instructor of the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network presenter with her distinctive spikey blonde hair and bubbly personality, reveals simple methods to master and removes anxiety about restaurant food in her show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell also worked at some of New York's top restaurants, has studied Italian cuisine and its traditions, and was a contestant on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the Upstate region of New York Chef Burrell was attracted by the food. She pursued her passion for food and restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America following the completion of a bachelor's degree in English as well as Communication at Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was where I had my most memorable time in my life. I just couldn't get enough enjoyment from it. After graduation, Burrell spent one year studying at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. While in Italy, she developed a deep appreciation and understanding of Italian food and culture. This has had a profound impact on the way she cooks. Burrell serves on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that helps brighten the lives of kids who struggle. Additionally, she is a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation celebrity advocate where she promotes awareness of the condition of children with diabetes. She frequently travels around the nation in her capacity in the capacity of mentor and public speaker in which she speaks about her career and love of cooking.
